Job Description
Job Summary


The Materials Tech is an all-around team member who is trained and able to perform all different functions in the Materials Management department. Under the direction of the Logistics Manager, Senior Materials Tech or the OR Materials Supervisor, the Materials Tech performs PAR and inventory management; supply and equipment receiving, delivery and inventory management; and OR case carts as directed. The Materials Tech may be asked to perform any of these tasks based on the hospital volume and staffing of the department.


Minimum Qualifications


Education: High School Graduate or GED


Experience: Two years of experience in a storeroom or warehouse preferred, or previous customer service or retail experience.


Licensure/Certification: None


Knowledge/Skills: Good communication skills, interpersonal skills and problem-solving skills. Ability to provide excellent customer service while working as a team. Ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions. Basic computer skills including MS Windows. Proficient in PMM Pathways, with Supply Tracking System and the ability to use hand held scanners preferred. Self directed and able to work independently. Ability to operate standard office equipment (ex. fax machine, printers, PC's). Can handle supply carts and can operate cardboard compactor, manual and powered pallet jacks.


Other: This position may require operation of a vehicle for Roper St. Francis Healthcare business. If applicable, the selected candidate/employee must possess a valid, current South Carolina driver's license. In addition, the selected candidate/employee must be insurable under the Roper St. Francis Healthcare vehicle insurance plan, which will be verified by reviewing licensure and driving record.
