Job Description

Job Summary

Receive, maintain, and disburse inventory.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive, store, stock, maintain and distribute inventory
  • Other duties as assigned by proper authority
  • Ensure compliance with all railroad rules and regulations for safety, operations and the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA)
  • Complete various rail office duties including manual and electronic data processing
  • Operate material handling equipment and forklift

Pay

Entry Rate $220.49/day*

Full Rate $249.02/day*

*varies by location/assignment

Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid Driver's License
  • 18 years of age or older
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Type 25 average net words per minute
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications

  • Forklift operation experience
  • Oracle applications experience

Basic Competencies

  • Reasoning skills (problem solving and troubleshooting skills)
  • Communication skills (provide clear instructions/directions)
  • Verbal comprehension (Understand oral and written communications-both general and technical)
  • Basic Math

Physical Requirements

  • Stoop/bend/kneel/crouch/balance
  • Demonstrate auditory and visual acuity/tracking/inspection
  • Climb ladders
  • Medium to Heavy Work, lifting up to 60 pounds occasionally and up to 85 pounds on a rare basis

Employment Conditions

  • Must pass a background screening
  • Wear protective equipment such as hard hat, hearing protection, safety-toe boots, or safety glasses
  • Work hours may include a nonstandard workweek, overtime, and various shift work
  • Must pass all required assessments
  • Must pass a post-offer medical examination, including drug and physical capabilities test that entails a 1.5 hour strength and cardiovascular fitness test. You will be required to travel up to 4 hours to testing center at your expense
  • Complete annual safety testing requirements
  • Work safely to prevent on the job accidents and injuries
  • This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement, membership is required
