Job Description

Position Name: Marketing Manager

SkillGigs is a fast-growing, eCommerce-style marketplace connecting employers to skilled talent.

Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Marketing Manager - Customer Acquisition to join our team and drive the acquisition of paying customers for SkillGigs. This role will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies and tactics focused on acquiring and converting potential customers into paying subscribers or users of our pay-per-performance model. The Marketing Manager - Customer Acquisition will work closely with the VP of Marketing and cross-functional teams to optimize the marketing funnel and drive revenue growth.


Responsibilities:

Develop and execute customer acquisition strategies and tactics to drive the conversion of potential customers into paying subscribers or users of our pay-per-performance model.

Collaborate with the VP of Marketing to define customer acquisition goals, targets, and KPIs.

Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and target segments for customer acquisition.

Develop a deep understanding of our target audience, including their pain points, motivations, and decision-making processes.

Create and manage multi-channel marketing campaigns focused on customer acquisition, including digital advertising, content marketing, email marketing, social media, and events.

Optimize the marketing funnel to improve conversion rates at each stage of the customer journey, from awareness to subscription or pay-per-performance usage.

Utilize data analytics and tracking tools to measure campaign performance, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions.

Collaborate closely with the Sales team to align marketing efforts with their needs and support revenue generation.

Monitor industry trends and keep up-to-date with the latest customer acquisition strategies and best practices.

Manage relationships with external agencies, vendors, and partners as needed to support customer acquisition initiatives.

Track and report on marketing campaign performance, providing regular updates to the VP of Marketing and other stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

Proven work experience as a Marketing Manager or a similar role, with a strong focus on customer acquisition, e-commerce and revenue generation.

Experience developing and executing marketing strategies to acquire paying customers, preferably in a tech-focused or startup environment.

Proficiency in digital marketing channels, including SEO, SEM, social media, content marketing, and email marketing.

Experience with marketing automation and CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Marketo, Salesforce) to manage customer acquisition campaigns and track performance.

Familiarity with analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics) to measure campaign effectiveness and optimize conversion rates.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions to optimize customer acquisition campaigns.

Demonstrated ability to manage and optimize paid advertising campaigns (e.g., Google Ads, Facebook Ads) for customer acquisition.

Experience with A/B testing and conversion rate optimization to improve campaign performance.

Knowledge of customer segmentation strategies and targeted marketing approaches to drive acquisition efforts.

Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize effectively.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Creative thinking with a passion for innovation and staying ahead of industry trends.

Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
