Title:
Marketing Insights Intern
Position summary:
Uncover, document & track actionable insights to drive brand, product and sales strategy
Responsibilities:
  • Synthesize information from various sources into meaningful insights
  • Assist with crafting internal communications, including Senior Management reporting, etc.
  • Assist with competitive analysis to understand market share and favor
  • Create process improvements to communicate insights program
  • Assist and collaborate with Strategy team as needed
Areas of need/projects:
  • High level competitive analysis - ongoing
    • Ongoing competitive monitoring of a select set of competition across flooring categories
    • Maintain a set of baseline resources that offer high level information on the competitive set, scope of their businesses, strengths and weaknesses
    • Assist with market share information and top spec’d products in key segments from Design Analytics and analysis of Floor Focus Design Survey or other designated sources annually
  • Ongoing competitive monitoring of a select set of competition across flooring categories
  • Maintain a set of baseline resources that offer high level information on the competitive set, scope of their businesses, strengths and weaknesses
  • Assist with market share information and top spec’d products in key segments from Design Analytics and analysis of Floor Focus Design Survey or other designated sources annually
  • Assist with quarterly competitive activity report – ongoing management, quarterly output
  • Assist with compiling competitive product launch information by segment/channel
  • Assist with culling down and organizing the most relevant content
  • Assist with compiling and review monthly competitive activity from media monitoring reports, trade publications, internal experts and independent competitive research
  • Synthesize and highlight key competitive insights
  • Monitoring and documentation of competitive messaging and activation via digital, print and trade shows
  • Competitive monitoring of digital platforms, trade show presence, overall marketing activity – ongoing
    • Monitoring and documentation of competitive messaging and activation via digital, print and trade shows

  • Assist with compiling and analyzing data and information from the following resources:
    • Design Analytics
    • BAT
    • Digital, Segment & Content Strategy team members

  • Assist with the development of the State of the Business reports & Prep for Quarterly Segment Reviews – ongoing support, quarterly output

  • Assist with the development of Segment-Specific Spotlights
  • Assist with an annual review and update (as needed) the existing segment spotlight information
  • Assist with documenting current project overview, recap initiatives, upcoming initiatives
  • Assist with compiling pertinent info from competitive research
  • Assist with seeking outside input or resources as necessary
  • Assist in gathering insight from sales & sustainability
  • Assist in conducting conversations, or draft survey questions, deploy and synthesize information or provide analysis as needed
  • Assist with integrating sustainability information into overall competitive insights
  • Assist with insights to inform product briefs, marketing services or competitive differentiation
Marketing Digest
  • Partner with digital marketing and content strategy to ensure proper organization
  • Gather and organize marketing posts into the marketing digest format
Assist with Competitive spotlights
  • Based on demand, assist in gathering competitive threats
  • Assist with curating an output that supports sales conversations in a competitive situation
  • Assist with product category requests, PVC-free, vinyl sheet, nora vs. epoxy floor
Support various marketing functions:
  • Assist in compilation and analysis of ThinkLab research, as well as sharing insights with sales
  • Audit of the product data on the new web site
Activation Support
  • Other TBD
  • Help maintain participant lists for industry memberships like IIDA
  • Social Selling Kits
  • At least temporarily, support CEU Events administration
  • PR/Bylines
  • Curate and order promotional items and sales tools supporting customer events and tradeshows based on direction from segment strat team
  • Curate and provide assets to fulfill association, tradeshow, contract promotional features and online presence
  • Product Playbook
  • Support Digital team inbox and any other ad hoc digital reporting needs
  • Support all marketing teams in compilation and communication of assets via WP
