The Strategic Operations (StratOps) Strategic Capabilities Unit, consists of Washington DC Operations, Marketing & Communications and Strategic Development. The StratOps team promotes and elevates the business within our markets, works with customers and competition to influence and drive the growth of Ball Aerospace and facilitates collaboration across the business enterprise to increase opportunities.


Marketing & Communications Specialist I / Marketing & Communications Specialist II – Integrated Marketing & Campaigns


Ball Aerospace is seeking a Marketing & Communications Specialist I to join our Marketing & Communications (MarCom) department. In this position, you will be responsible for promoting and elevating Ball Aerospace’s brand within the marketplace by supporting consistent branding and messaging across all Ball Aerospace communication channels, developing marketing materials, and leading various strategic communication campaigns, external marketing projects and events. This position is based in Broomfield, Colorado.


What You’ll Do:

  • Write award nomination packages, including working with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate tasks, scheduling and deadlines.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.
  • Serve as the marketing lead for various external events. Responsibilities include partnering with the Customer Engagement and Events team and subject matter experts to develop messaging, coordinate the creation of marketing materials, identify strategic marketing opportunities and collect post-event analytics.
  • Plan and staff internal and external company events.
  • Write speaking notes and develop presentations for external speaking engagements aimed at driving increased market awareness.
  • Serve as a liaison or co-liaison to a company Strategic Capability Unit, which will include developing strategic marketing and communications support for that function.
  • Responsibilities include partnering with subject matters experts to conduct market and audience research, identify communications goals, develop messaging, work with the larger MarCom team to identify and execute strategies, and collect analytics across multi-year campaigns.
  • Support consistent branding and messaging across all communication channels.
  • Maintain required records and reports in accordance with Ball Aerospace policies and government regulations.
  • Responsible for maintaining and developing Ball Aerospace biographies. In addition, Write and support the development of various marketing materials in accordance with company standards, including brochures and other print and digital products.
  • In partnership with the Sponsorships/Memberships Lead, support the daily execution of coordinating Ball Aerospace’s sponsorship and membership activities to ensure the full utilization of benefits.
  • As part of the Integrated Marketing & Campaigns Team (IMC), own and develop marketing campaigns to support the highest priority annual business goals.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.


What You’ll Need:


  • Marketing & Communications Specialist I – Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience writing and developing speaking engagements, award nominations and developing brochures and biographies preferred.
  • Marketing & Communications Specialist II – Bachelor’s degree plus 3 or more years related experience.
  • Experience working with senior level leaders, including executives
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, PR, Journalism, English or related field preferred.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience working with marketing analytical tools and platforms preferred.
  • Ability to quickly learn new skills, new products or technical knowledge; stay current on new trends, ideas, technologies.
  • Ability to be self-motivated and proactive.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Aptitude for approaching concrete goals with strategic thinking skills to achieve them.
  • If not familiar with industry, ability to take initiative to understand company and learn about products, capabilities and markets.
  • Experience developing marketing materials, such as brochures, fliers, etc.
  • Experience working under brand guidelines.
  • Experience collecting, analyzing and interpreting marketing data.
  • Experience and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Experience coordinating with graphic designers in software such as Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop on marketing collateral.
  • Ability to translate and synthesize highly technical information into strategic marketing messages.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Teams, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
  • Experience increasing brand awareness among key target audiences preferred.
  • A creative eye for design and branding that carries through layout design, photography, videography, typography, etc.
  • Professional experience leading marketing campaigns.
  • Ability to work multiple projects simultaneously, under deadline pressure with fast turn arounds while demonstrating attention to detail.


On-Site Work Environment:
This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.


Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.
  • Occasional flexibility for evening or weekend work to meet deadlines, as needed.

  • HIRING SALARY RANGE FOR MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST II: $63,000 - $84,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
  • HIRING SALARY RANGE FOR MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST I: $51,000 - $70,500 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
