What you’ll be able to do:
At Ford Motor Company, we are taking our Production Supervisors to the next level. These dedicated employees are now called ‘Process Coaches’ and are the drivers of standardization and continuous improvement in the Ford Production System. In this role you will:
  • Coach Safety, Quality and Productivity to ensure objectives are met through following standardized work
  • Provide communication and recognition to the team
  • Through Process Confirmation, verify that the line is running safely, efficiently, and producing quality parts
  • Coordinate and scheduling labor and materials to meet maintenance requirements to minimize down time; coordinate maintenance activities with other plant operations
  • Supervise preventive maintenance schedules, preventive and predictive inspections, and repairs to lessen down time
  • Establish Team Leader and Team Member capability
  • Optimize efficiency in accordance with budgets and cost objectives
  • Handle the basic administration of supervisory responsibilities and documents
  • Support Line Operator via the ANDON Production Monitoring System, as a Secondary support for any line issues
  • Support Kaizen (Continuous Improvement) and lead problem resolution to the lowest level
  • Build a conducive work environment for the team(s) to complete their assigned responsibilities / tasks
  • Meet FTT (First Time Through), inventory, cost, scrap, supply, and tooling expense targets
  • Work any shift as well as rotating shifts and weekends

The minimum requirements we seek:
  • High School Diploma
  • 1+ years supervisory experience

Our preferred requirements:
  • Prior tenure leading a unionized work force
  • Ability to read a machine part print
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict management skills
  • Assembly/subassembly experience preferred
  • Ability to make machining offsets based on gauge results
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook)
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Safety and Quality experience preferred
  • Proven experience in leading production and maintenance in a machining environment
  • Knowledge and experience in machining, tooling, gauging
  • Capable of assigning work to unionized hourly workforce and holding employees accountable for following processes pertaining to daily work assignments in terms safety, quality, and throughput
  • Familiarity with constraint management principles
  • CNC (Computer Numerical Controls) machining experience
  • Strong multi-tasking, organizational and administrative skills
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Proven experience in troubleshooting equipment downtime issues
