Job Description
Hours: 9am to 6pm M-Th; 9am to 3pm on F The Operator II is responsible for manufacturing bird seed in accordance with standard operating procedures established in the blending mill. They will be responsible for operating the bagging equipment. In addition to bird seed manufacturing, they will perform housekeeping activities, preventative maintenance and minor repair of equipment, and quality checks on seed and ingredients and bin inventory. The Operator II will back up supervisor in blending and other duties. Essential Duties Assist supervisor with the operation of blending equipment in manufacturing seed Operate bagging equipment to fill, weigh and sew seed bags Stack filled bags on pallets Deliver product from the bagging area to appropriate warehouse location Rotate current seed inventory Complete appropriate paperwork accurately and in a timely manner Collect samples in accordance with sampling plan Perform routine housekeeping in all areas of the mill Operate a forklift Keep floors free from spills and debris Return tools to their proper storage place when finished with the tools Comply with all company policies Comply with all local, state and federal laws, and regulations Ability to lift 80 pounds, climb ladders and operate a pallet jack with 2,000 pounds of material Adheres to the highest standards of company and plant safety programs, guidelines, rules, and regulations. Additional Duties Bulk Bin entry Collaborating with Supervisor to assist with daily operations of the production floor Supports Supervisor with End of Month Inventory reports Perform other duties as assigned Job Qualifications A minimum requirement of a high school degree or equivalent 2 years' experience in industry lead production operation or similar manufacturing environment Basic computer knowledge 2 years' experience managing people
