Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Operations Manager to join our growing manufacturing firm in Milwaukee. This is a full-time, direct hire position offering a comprehensive benefits package. As the Manufacturing Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing our day-to-day operations, ensuring that production output, product quality, and shipping schedules meet and exceed customer expectations. Your expertise in strategic planning, resource allocation, and personnel management will be essential in driving operational efficiency, cost reduction, and maintaining high standards of quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor operations and implement corrective actions as needed to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Conduct employee evaluations and appraisals
  • Stay updated with industry best practices and new concepts in production management
  • Build and maintain a positive and collaborative work environment, recruiting, managing, and developing a skilled plant staff
  • Plan, organize, and direct all aspects of manufacturing operations to maximize production capacity and flexibility while minimizing costs
  • Analyze data to identify areas of waste and implement process improvements
  • Develop and implement strategies aligned with our strategic initiatives to drive operational excellence and achieve optimal results
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and timely delivery of products to customers
  • Address employee issues or grievances in accordance with collective bargaining agreements, if applicable
  • Coordinate major projects and capital investments, ensuring timely implementation within approved budgets
  • Supervise and coordinate programs related to training, safety, housekeeping, cost reduction, and work simplification
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and promote a culture of workplace safety
  • Serve as a liaison between management and supervisors, communicating decisions, policies, and procedures
  • Efficiently allocate resources and optimize asset utilization to enhance productivity and profitability
  • Develop systems and processes to track productivity, standards, and performance targets for effective asset management

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of business and management principles, including budgeting, strategic planning, and resource allocation
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management or a related field, or equivalent education and work experience
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and diplomacy
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated ability to create accountability, lead by example, and build and motivate teams
  • Proven work experience as a Plant Manager or similar managerial role in a manufacturing setting
  • Solid understanding of safety, quality, productivity, inventory management, and continuous improvement processes
  • Effective decision-making and people management skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with industry-standard equipment and technical expertise
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP software
