The Manufacturing Engineer will play a crucial role in leading the manufacturing engineering process at Moxion. As a vital member of the Battery Technology team, this position requires strong collaboration with other leaders, engineers, and technicians to establish Moxion as a global leader in battery-based energy storage manufacturing.

This role will be responsible for sustaining manufacturing processes, continuous improvement, and new product integration. The Battery Assembly Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for maintaining manufacturing processes, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and integrating new products into the production line.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance manufacturing processes and reduce production costs while increasing output and yield
  • Oversee and optimize the Moxion battery assembly equipment, tooling, and processes to ensure production goals are attained
  • Provide feedback on the manufacturability of new product designs and offer suggestions to optimize production efficiency and product performance
  • Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to establish and maintain quality control procedures for battery assembly
  • Develop and maintain work instructions, PFMEA’s, and operation procedures for battery assembly processes
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any production issues related to battery assembly, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions promptly
  • Train production operators on new processes and ensure proper knowledge transfer for smooth execution
  • Monitor and analyze production data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement, ensuring consistent product quality and on-time delivery
  • Collaborate with the NPI engineering team to assess and implement design changes, ensuring smooth integration into the production process

Skills to Be Successful

  • Familiarity with manufacturing equipment such as dispensers, pick-and-place machines, conveyors, and automated screwdrivers.
  • Experience with root cause analysis, PFMEA, statistical process control, DOE, and other quality systems methodologies
  • Familiarity with laser welding, conveyors, and robotics
  • Proven track record of implementing successful continuous improvement initiatives
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related field

Pay Equity

Moxion is committed to the principle of pay equity – paying employees equitably for substantially similar work. Compensation displayed is a range. Maximum amounts are reserved for those candidates that exceed all experience and background requirements. We reserve the right to offer compensation based on level of experience. Moxion has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. The range above reflects the potential base pay within the San Francisco Bay area. If you live outside that region, the range is subject to change.

Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within the range provided above. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role.
