Design Engineer Jobs

Kaeppel Consulting is looking for a Design Engineer for a direct hire role at a client's site in Carrollton, GA.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide detailed engineering and designs suitable for the fabrication of casting machines, bar preparation machines, coil handling lines, furnaces, and other industrial equipment.
• Support sales and R&D by providing conceptual designs, cost estimates, specifications, and by making technical presentations to customers.
• Provide technical communication and support to customers.
• Provide field service work at customer’s site to supervise installation of equipment.
• Provide detailed layout designs for SCR rod mills and furnace installations.

Requirements:

• BS of Mechanical Engineering.
• Thorough knowledge of machine design, materials, mechanical power transmission, fluid power applications, and fabrication procedures.
• Ability to document design calculations and cost estimates.
• Knowledge of machine shop and fabrication practices.
• Successful completion of the EIT/FE (fundamentals of engineering exam) preferred.
• Ability to travel internationally.
• Ability to design special purpose machines from conceptual ideas into finished machinery using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor or other 3D engineering software.
• Minimum three years designing specialized industrial machinery.

Must-Haves:

BS of Mechanical Engineering.

Successful completion of the EIT/FE (fundamentals of engineering exam) preferred. OR PE certification

Minimum three years designing specialized industrial machinery.

Ability to design special purpose machines from conceptual ideas into finished machinery using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor or other 3D engineering software.

Thorough knowledge of machine design, materials, mechanical power transmission, fluid power applications, and fabrication procedures.
