Manufacturing Electrical Engineer/Facilities Manager

NGK-Locke, NGK-Locke compression molding manufacturer located in Va. Beach, Va. has an immediate opening for an experienced Engineer/Facilities Manager. Candidates should possess competency in using the following software: Access, Excel, Word, and ACAD. An Engineering Degree (preferably Electrical) and 5 years related experience. Practical experience directly related to Equipment repair and/or design is also required.

The Plant Engineer at NGK-Locke shall be responsible for maintaining all Process equipment, Plant Utilities and Facilities. He/she shall plan, design, and direct the modification of existing production equipment to maximize productivity. As necessary the Plant Engineer shall specify, procure and install additional process equipment to increase capacity.

The Plant Engineer must facilitate repairs to equipment mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and control systems. Technical assistance and direction to the Maintenance Staff in repairing equipment in a timely manner is very important. At the discretion of the Plant Engineer, hands-on assistance may be necessary to expedite equipment repairs.

Preparation of quotation requests and specification for new equipment, or modification to equipment or facility is the responsibility of the Plant Engineer.

Facilities Maintenance and Repair – The plant engineer is responsible for the maintenance and repair of facility HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. Process utilities, compressed air, cooling water, and electrical service also falls under the responsibility of the Plant Engineer. Contractors may be used if necessary.

The Plant Engineer must evaluate the safety designs of process equipment and recommend and implement improvements to ensure the safe operation of our production equipment.

Environmental – It is essential that the Plant Engineer participate in establishing and monitoring pollution control policies and procedures. As overseer of process equipment and facility maintenance, the Plant Engineer has the greatest opportunity to impact our environmental performance.

Project Management and interpersonal skills are extremely important in this role, as is problem solving and teamwork.
