The Salesforce Competitive Intelligence team is seeking a curious self-starter to fill the role of Manager / Sr. Manager on our team. This person will be aligned with our Manufacturing, Automotive, Energy & Utilities / Retail & Consumer Goods Sales Business Units to identify and provide competitive insights that will help drive the strategy and success of the Sales BU through competitive deal support, programs and initiatives. The ideal candidate will easily toggle between research, insights, deal support, and program execution. This individual takes pride in helping Salesforce win.


This position requires strong written and verbal communication as well as organizational skills, and the ability to manage deliverables across cross-functional teams. Key qualities for success in this role include: identifying and understanding the competitive landscape of a Sales BU, developing a mutual stakeholder relationship with BU leadership, managing complex business processes, analytical problem-solving skills, tech-savvy and excellent troubleshooting skills, entrepreneurial drive and work ethic, results orientation, and a demonstrated ability to add value and succeed in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities


  • Stay tuned to market signals (competitive messaging, trends, etc) to identify opportunities to engage.
  • Act as first point of contact for competitive sales topics for a Sales Business Unit, engaging and collaborating with other supporting functions to improve our win rates.
  • Think strategically to provide advice to senior sales leadership.
  • Identify, develop, and deliver enablement to arm the Sales BU with competitive strategies to win.
  • Provide proactive / reactive deal support to sales teams in specific competitive opportunities within aligned Sales BU.
  • Define and execute competitive programs for aligned Sales BU.
  • Identify gaps, recommend actions to sales leaders, set a plan and drive the execution.

  • Have proven knowledge or experience in one of the following industries / regions:


Education / Experience


  • Experience in the high-tech sector (CRM / SaaS) a plus.
  • Experience working with sales teams in multiple locations is desirable.
  • Internal understanding of Salesforce’s current data/reporting/governance tools and sales processes are highly preferable.
  • 5+ years of competitive intelligence, account executive / solutions engineer, sales strategy, sales programs, sales operations, or business / technology consulting experience.
  • Experience will be evaluated based on alignment to the core competencies for the role (e.g. extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer work, etc.)

For New York-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $131,300 to $219,900.


For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $131,300 to $219,900.


Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
