Summary

Manages the coordination & movement of materials throughout the plant and warehouse, outside storage & yard. Continually seeks out opportunities for improvement in material storage & flow, process & reporting, systems improvements. Leads a high performance work team of schedulers, team leaders & operators in all aspects of interplant logistics and warehouse operations. Effectively manages the operating life of key material handling assets and building infrastructure to enable lowest delivered cost. 3 years related experience. Scope: Small/medium facility. Typically reports to Manager Operation Services.
Manages the coordination & movement of materials throughout the plant and warehouse, outside storage & yards; Continually seeks out opportunities for improvement in material storage & flow, process & reporting, systems improvements, Leads high performance Material Handlers and Warehouse Loaders in all aspects of interplant logistics and warehouse operations; Effectively manages the operating life of key material handling assets and building infrastructure to enable correct products to be in the correct location in correct amounts in the most cost effective manner. Adheres to all Food Safety and Quality Standards specifically SQF systems.
Position Responsibilities
  • Assist in developing cost savings by participation in special projects and continuously improving warehouse process
  • Leads by example and demonstrates corporate and plant values.
  • Responds to and utilizes communication tools (i.e. cell phones, computers).
  • Shall understand that identification of any failures in these areas is their responsibility
  • Conducts frequent Safety coaching and leads implementation of safe work practices.
  • Manage, direct and control warehouse activities over all inventory levels on all shifts. Coordinate with ConAgra Fleet to ensure effective movement of product
  • Directly coordinate shipping and receiving with plant locations & IMC's
  • Monitor work methods to manage overall product to meet quality objectives
  • Provides frequent informal and periodic formal job performance feedback to team.
  • Leads and engages team members to in improve systems, processes and procedures.
  • Seeks and provides resources for team and provides necessary training that will assist the team in reaching its goals..
  • Oversee training program for forklift operators
  • Fully support SAP systems, all training, and adherence to achieve plant objectives
  • Monitor safety within the department to ensure a safe and efficient operation
  • Drive plant and department OIR targets and safety goals
  • Maintains team’s adherence to employee handbook, GMP’s and other plant policies and procedures.
  • Troubleshoots problems and implements corrective actions through root cause analysis.
  • Leads team in tracking and understanding Key Performance Indicators, Gap Analysis, and creating action plans to address performance gap’s.
  • Coaches team in personal accountability, giving and receiving feedback, root cause analysis, problem solving, decision making, trade-off analysis, interpersonal communications and external interactions
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies and local plant policies
  • Manage outside warehouse by reviewing cost of storage and palletizing
  • Facilitates and reacts to non-routine and crisis situations.
  • Responsible for compliance of HACCP & all quality programs
  • Actively reinforces key CPS concepts everyday through coaching and auditing of team members.
  • Direct Leadership in ConAgra Performance Systems, implementation and execution
Position Qualifications
  • Ability to manage and prioritize one’s own time consistent with the needs of the business
  • Excellent communication skills including oral, written and listening.
  • Plant warehousing experience
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work as a member of and/or lead cross-functional teams.
  • Minimum three (3) years successfully leading high performance teams and engaging team members to improve business results including employee hiring and retention, training and development, performance reviews and discipline.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent, Bachelors’ Degree in a supply chain, logistics or business related field preferred
  • Team leadership skills and project management proficiency
  • Self-motivated and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to think ahead and plan over an extended time period and prepare action plans to achieve results
  • Ability to perform formal root cause analysis to identify and resolve downtime/inefficient operational issues.

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range posted based on various factors, including, but not limited to, job duties, experience and expertise. A candidate’s work location could also impact the actual compensation being outside of the range to reflect local cost of labor. A reasonable annual estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $79,240.00 - $118,860.00
