SUMMARY
The Manager, Regional Asset Protection assists in protecting Hibbett I City Gear’s assets, merchandise, personnel and reduces preventable loss by conducting specific investigations, reviewing exception reports, training store associates, conducting inventory counts, and shrinkage control ratings. They should work diligently to meet organization and asset protection goals including; achieving the companies set shrink goal for assigned region, EBIT, and comp sales goals. They should actively collaborate with business partners within Store Operations, Store Management, Asset Protection Department, and Human Resources to carry out asset protection initiatives and goals. Including all areas that may be defined as retail loss and within company safety objectives
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure Shrink goal is met within region.
Ensure Register Over/Short-Cash Loss goal is met within region.
Ensure RFID compliance goal is met within region.
Ensure all administrative duties are completed as assigned, correctly, and on-time.
Ensure accurate data collection/incident collection in ThinkLP.
Coordinate and conduct physical inventories in assigned region. RAPM should effectively manage current expectations regarding physical inventories. Investigate and research any variances concerning inventory when necessary. Review inventory reports at the store level to ensure shipping and receiving of merchandise is properly executed/reconciled.
Manage policies and procedures specific to inventory management to ensure inventory quality and accurate shrink. Partner to develop and improve policies/procedures as needed. Assist stores with receiving issues using all resources available.
Identify causes of shrink, cash loss, fraud, markdown deficiencies, etc. and follow up with additional coaching when necessary. Partner with DSM and RSM to effectively drive goals and results in assigned region. Escalating to Corporate Asset Protection and/or AP Investigator where necessary for additional support.
Review and analyze exception reports for possible theft or Hibbett I City Gear policy violations. RAPM should partner with AP Investigator where appropriate.
Oversee inventory movement, identify, and correct errors to maintain accurate levels in stores, partnering with IAO where necessary. Manage this process effectively within region by partnering to execute RFID successfully within region. Non-compliance should be addressed and communicated.
Conduct store visits and develop a plan for weekly visits of stores by analyzing reports and prioritizing issues. Ensure stores are in compliance with control measures, procedures, policies, and discover opportunities for improvement. Findings from these visits should be communicated to the appropriate party, documented when needed.
Audit stores to ensure stores are in compliance with Hibbett I City Gear’s asset protection policies and procedures. Monitor stores for shipping and administrative errors. Conduct various audits/compliance reviews at every location to ensure asset protection duties are being completed to help prevent shrink and other areas of loss.
RAPM must inspect all security equipment on each store visit; ensuring it’s proper functioning. Report items that need service immediately.
Alarm Management; RAPM must audit alarm code and call list on each visit. 50% of all alarm systems must have an alarm test completed each year. RAPM must inspect alarm equipment at all new stores to ensure proper devices and installation. Associate integrity concerns should be escalated to the AP Investigator for appropriate support and investigation.
Conduct shrinkage control ratings on all stores each fiscal year to ensure compliance. Shrinkage Control Ratings are conducted for accountability in administration, backroom, salesfloor, policies, target shrink (if applicable), and equipment. RAPM must conduct at least 1 rating at all stores within region during the fiscal year and conduct an additional rating at any store that goes on the target shrink program, within 45 days of going on the program. Ratings must be completed and submitted in ThinkLP.
Where applicable ensure compliance of target shrink program within region on each store visit. RAPM must complete a target shrink audit in-person or via telephone monthly. The audits must be completed and submitted in ThinkLP.
Utilize all information systems and resources to control both internal and external loses and protect Hibbett I City Gear assets by monitoring all data points and information that is available.
RAPM should work and maintain appropriate relationship with AP Investigator as an appropriate liaison within Asset Protection for support in hitting goals and striving to achieve desired outcomes.
Partner with AP Investigator regarding external, and internal investigations for assigned region. RAPM should follow current direction from Corporate Asset Protection/Operations Support.
Develop appropriate action plan for Target Shrink Stores while partnering with the RSM, DSM, AP Investigator, and Corporate Asset Protection.
Partner with AP Investigator regarding efforts in Target Shrink Locations and other stores that need enhanced attention in order to properly diagnose and address issues.
Conduct new store training for associates and management when a new location opens. RAPM should partner with AP Investigator where appropriate for training in high shrink/high incident markets. New store training should be completed within 30 days of opening. A new store AP audit should also be completed and submitted into ThinkLP.
Conduct training/coaching with store managers and DSM’s on asset protection policies and procedures to reduce shrink and maintain accountability. Build relationships with store management and operations associates to be proactive with asset protection initiatives while having discussions concerning trends, training, loss, fraud, and safety awareness.
Develop effective partnerships with managers and store associates to help curtail loss from accidents, theft, scams, etc.
Conduct safety compliance audits and awareness meetings as directed.
Maximize a safe and secure environment while reducing shrink, theft, and other areas of risk in stores.
Assist law enforcement with external theft cases. Maintain effective liaison with local authorities to ensure that all cases prosecuted are properly coordinated. Ensure that the appropriate cases are properly escalated to the AP Investigator for support and investigation.
Ensure all cases that are eligible for civil recovery are submitted and that restitution direction is properly followed.
Effectively manage and coordinate cases that are prosecuted.
Attain EBIT goals by controlling expenses, recovering restitution, and addressing loss.
Protect the company’s assets and financial information by ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of internal control procedures and informing management and/or appropriate officials of potential fraud risk.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No supervisory responsibilities. Leads and coaches store management on asset protection functions and policies and procedures of Hibbett I City Gear.
QUALIFICATIONS
3 or more years of experience in Asset Protection/Store Operations
Strong analytical and investigatory skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
Experience working for a retail company
