Job Description
An R&D Engineering Manager at Footprint is responsible for ensuring key projects and engineering duties are fulfilled. This leader is responsible for solving any engineering issues that come up in a project as well as developing the overall concepts of new products and/or solving problems that may prevent their completion. They direct, plan accordingly, and spend time supervising employees in different departments throughout projects. A few of the main duties with this role is to answer technical questions, propose budgets for projects, train new employees, and work with various departments. This leader must prepare reports on the progress of any project. One of the most important skills the R&D Engineering Manager will have is their ability to effectively delegate the work.


  • Ability to understand the larger picture of the module and how it integrates with the rest of the company

  • Ability to support the factory on 7 days a week, 365 days a year basis
  • Lead by example and be a role model as it pertains to safety, quality, and output behaviors
  • Ability to communicate the status of projects to peers and both internal and external customers.
  • Travel Requirements: 25% including but not limited to international travel
  • Ability to demonstrate technical leadership and understand the machines’ operations PMs and troubleshooting of issues
  • Leading and mentoring an innovative team of engineers – growing people as you grow our business and technology
  • Ability to present ideas and proposals in a clean and concise way to senior management and peers
  • Create reports and provide updates on projects
  • Propose budgets for various projects
  • Owns development and proliferation of technologies associated with the modules that are under their authority. For example yield, MU, MED requirements, and NPI requirements


Requirements


Qualifications:


  • Minimum of one (1) year of prior management experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Engineering field
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, chemistry, or materials science
