Job Details

The main responsibility is to lead the technical development of formulas and flavors for capsuled, tablets, and liquid nutracueticals. This role will own the technical development, scale-up and commercialization of all new products.

Create and implement new product development launch plan.

Create and edit product formulas and specifications.

Conduct testing of formulations including powder flow, tapped density and slug formation.

Order, mix and observe pilot batch testing.

Provide scale-up support to ensure successful transitions to new formulas.

Research new ingredients and process for existing product improvement.

Meet with vendors to source materials and flavors for existing products and new innovation.

Work with Sales to address necessary formula changes.

Work with Purchasing to qualify new materials.

Work with Finance to cost products and formula changes.

Keep thorough and clear records of all work.

Develop Nutritional and/or Supplement Facts panels.

Follow and ensure compliance with the Quality System and cGMP programs.

Assist Production on rework and reprocessing plans.

Assist Quality Assurance and Lab services in taste testing for new products. Review batch records when an issue exists and recalculate batches for production modifications.

Candidate Requirements

• Must have complex math, reading, and writing skills
• Maintain a regular and dependable work attendance record with few instances of unplanned and/or unexpected absence.
• 3 years of work experience in managing nutracuetical product formulation
• Bachelors or master’s degree in a scientific discipline
• Expert knowledge of R&D, flavors, and the manufacturing process
• Must be willing to learn new tasks and procedures
