We are seeking a Quality manager to be responsible for managing the Quality Department and all quality related functions required to accomplish department objectives and division goals. Formulates and maintains quality control vision and coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other management team members to maximize product reliability. Works directly with customers to define requirements and solve quality issues while maintaining excellent relationships. Leadership is a key strength. Position requires a blend of both strategic and tactical approaches to quality.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: This is not intended as a comprehensive list; it is intended to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed, and may be required to perform additional, position-specific tasks.

  • Identify individual training needs and to create development plans for key individuals within the quality organization.
  • Develop and implement systems and procedures to ensure that the plant operations are in compliance with all quality standards and policies.
  • Develop and implement systems and procedures to ensure that all products meet product specifications, customer expectations, regulatory requirements and internal standards for product integrity.
  • Be constantly audit ready through consistent application of basic quality practices in a systematic fashion.
  • Motivate and evaluate staff and utilize management tools and techniques in resolving organizational challenges.
  • Responsible to meet throughput objectives for the post-forge inspection area and quality review prior shipment
  • Develop departmental strategy that embraces a migration to statistical process control where possible.
  • Provide and supervise the resources to manage the MRB area including scrap
  • Provide overall leadership in to establish and monitor customer/supplier relations, strategic planning and deployment initiatives, and measurement systems to determine organizational improvement.
  • Monitor and report key quality characteristics
  • Develop, implement, and support systems and procedures to monitor and manage outside vendors and their quality performance.
  • Oversee all compliance related activities including Nadcap, AS9100, ISO9001, ASTM specifications, Customer quality requirements, and internal quality specifications.
  • Provide and manage the resources to address quality issues as needed.
  • Serve as the Quality System management representative

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

A Bachelor’s degree or higher in the Engineering field or Business Management and a minimum of seven to ten years of directly related experience. Experience in the aerospace manufacturing/forging industry and strong working knowledge of Quality systems and specifications is preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as engineering drawings, technical specifications, safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of organization, customers, and outside regulatory agencies.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite & MRP Systems

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Certified Quality Manager Membership in the American Society for Quality (ASQ).

Blackbelt or Greenbelt certification preferred.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

SALARY

$125,000 - $145,000 Annually

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
