McDonald’s has an exciting opportunity for a Manager, Learning Systems Operations and Product Management on the Global Learning & Development Center of Excellence (COE) team. Reporting to the Director of Learning System and Governance, this role is responsible for the operational effectiveness of system-wide learning platforms within a complex global and matrixed organization. The manager must be a people leader and effective problem solver who can recognize issues and anticipate company needs, identify and solve tactical problems and translate solutions into meaningful plans at a functional level with global scale. This role is essential to supporting our transformation journey, helping to enable the future technology roadmap, and managing our multiple products to create an enjoyable user experience.
Responsibilities
- Drive multiple complex projects and priorities, producing results in critical areas both as a team leader and team member
- Set priorities, lead, and deliver execution excellence
- Lead and deliver on efforts to gather enhancements, uncover issues, and prioritize activities with IT and vendors on the delivery and implementation of solutions
- Act as an expert on learning data availability, structure, requirements, and output options. Partner with Global People on reporting requirements and centralization efforts
- Lead platform governance. Review and ensure platform standards are effective, scalable, and documented: including maintenance processes, outage management, and annual reviews
- End-user customer-centric; internal and external customer focused
- Ability to operate as a knowledge expert on the learning platforms functionality to solve business needs/requests and effectively communicate with technical and non-technical users. Demonstrable ability to summarize for a leadership audience is required
- Manage and develop the learning administration team, ensure knowledge cross-training across resources
- Demonstrated experience with learning platform ownership; stability, process management, platform usability, and enhancement
- Focus attention on constantly improving the current state; project management, process, quality, and system integrity
- Review and recommend new technology to meet business needs
- Demonstrated people management skills. Ability to develop and grow team members.
- Ability to provide actionable insight from data analysis
- Experience with cloud-based solutions, learning platforms, and/or instructional design
- Ability to work with a global team and navigate global time zone and travel approximately 10% as needed, including potential global travel
- Strong communication skills - both written and verbal and ability to build solid relationships at all levels
- Demonstrated project management experience on complex, time-bound initiatives
- Strong presentation skills – experience delivering to a diverse global audience with English as a second language
- Ability to carry out duties autonomously, with little direct supervision
- Ability to communicate functional needs to support the development of technology use case
- Experience with system implementations, enhancements, and documentation
- Experienced in Excel and/or BI, Tableau, or other report-generation software
- Bachelor’s Degree desired or 10+ years of equivalent experience
- Experience in leveraging Excel and PowerPoint
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience in operations of a franchise organization, including characteristics of end users in different roles across markets globally
- Knowledge of Learning Experience Platforms (LXP)
