Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Hybrid to Dallas or Temple

Internal Audit is an independent, objective assurance and consulting activity which adds value and improves an organization's operations and profitability. It helps the organization accomplish its objectives by monitoring risks and provide reasonable assurance that controls are in place to effectively mitigate those risks. Internal audit also helps the organization maintain a reasonable level of operational efficiency and effectiveness, reliability of financial data, compliance with applicable laws and regulations, as well as safeguard assets.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

§ Provides day-to-day supervision of department-based staff.
§ Organizes and facilitates the implementation of projects and monitors for quality and timely completion.
§ Utilizes risk assessment methodologies and risk-based audit processes to analytically solve problems.
§ Performs facilitation skills in directing group interaction toward the accomplishment of stated objectives.
§ Demonstrates ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
§ Schedules project with department/area management and assigns audit resources.

§ Organizes planning and development of work programs and assigns projects.

§ Manages work program procedures and other audit tasks as required.

§ Identifies potential risk exposures and evaluates the effectiveness of organizational policies and procedures and internal controls designed to meet strategic business objectives.
§ Meets regularly with project team and client management throughout projects to discuss project status and specific issues identified.
§ Works with Department Management to ensure that results are effectively communicated in project reports.
§ Consults with management on special projects such as new system implementations, business process redesign, special investigations, etc.
§ Exhibits and maintains high levels of interpersonal communication to manage staff and complete projects.

§ Serves as coach/mentor in the professional development of auditors.

§ Demonstrates proficient knowledge of accounting principles, auditing standards, internal control theory, fraud indicators and investigative techniques.

§ Performs other duties as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

- EDUCATION - Bachelor's

- EXPERIENCE - 5 Years of Experience

- Preferred Certifications - Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
