Supervise the daily activities, patient flow, operations, clinical procedures and performance of Diagnostic Imaging Technologists on a regularly scheduled shift for an assigned work area/unit such as, but not limited to, diagnostic radiography, fluoroscopy, contract studies, special procedures, mammography, computed tomography, ultrasound, MRI. Integrates assigned areas/units administrative and clinical services, processes and procedures with departmental and organizational business goals/objectives.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Monitors and maintains compliance on an on-going basis.
- Schedules Technologists and patients/exams/procedures and assigns daily work
- Implements and monitors radiation safety program in order to minimize radiation exposure and prevent unnecessary exposure.
- Monitors and reviews performance of staff and participates in formal performance evaluations.
- Assists in the design and implementation and improvement of a department-wide quality management/assurance program.
- Hires and on boards new staff to ensure service, safety, attendance and quality expectations are fully understood.
- Disciplines and coaches staff in regards to attendance, quality, safety and performance.
- Addresses and resolves patient and staff complaints/issues. Works with other departments in partnership to improve patient workflows, outcomes and satisfaction.
- Analyzes Diagnostic Imaging Technology administrative and clinical procedures, processes and systems in terms of quality, cost, efficiency and productivity metrics and makes appropriate recommendation to modify / improve.
- Resolves on a first level human resources and labor relations issues.
- Supervises daily work procedures and performance of Diagnostic Imaging Technologist and other assigned staff members.
- Ensures compliance with TJC, NCQA,MQSA, and other applicable local , state and national standards, requirements and regulations
- Reviews clinical tests, documentation, records and procedures for quality. Monitors work and clinical processes, procedures and systems to ensure quality, patient care and clinical standards/goals are achieved.
- Implements and monitors radiation safety and quality program in order to minimize radiation exposure and prevent unnecessary exposure and ensure quality images.
- Trains and observes staff to ensure competency in greeting patients, performing hand hygiene policy, checking 2 patient identifiers, use of appropriate safety mobility devices and performing correct protocol and exams.
- Performs daily huddles and rounding to engage staff and improve employee satisfaction and contribute to retention of staff.
- Facilitates Process Improvement projects to increase efficiency and provide a safe environment for patients and staff. Engage staff to identify efficiencies.
- Develops timely and accurate work load, statistical and operating reports and makes appropriate recommendations to improve productivity and utilization of staff, equipment and materials.
- Trains and implements new policies and procedures to ensure staff are educated and trained in latest protocols and quality initiatives.
- Conducts regular and special radiation surveys in accordance with local, state and federal requirements

- Ensures that supplies, techs and radiation generation equipment are utilized safely and in accordance with all departmental, organizational, local, state and federal radiation
Basic Qualifications:
Experience
- Clear understanding of Imaging operations and workflows. Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required. License, Certification, Registration
- Specific certification in any of the above disciplines maybe required as determined by the hiring manager. Additional Requirements:
- N/A
- Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree in Radiologic Technology or Diagnostic Ultrasound from an AMA approved school; OR two (2) years of experience in a directly related field.
- Certification as a Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and/or registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT-R) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), or certification by the State of California Department of Public Health (CDPH) as a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT), or registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist (ARRT-N), or certificate by Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) as a certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist required.
- Minimum two (2) years of relevant clinical experience as a staff technologist in an acute care hospital or multi-modality outpatient imaging center. Education
