Manager, Facilities- Shipping & Receiving (Contract To Hire)

We are currently seeking a hands-on Facilities/Receiving Manager to assist all activities related to facilities, maintenance, calibration, safety and shipping & receiving. This position is responsible for assisting the operations of approximately 33,000 square feet of chemistry labs, biology labs, a vivarium and office space. This role will report to the Head of IT & Operations. He/She will be working closely with existing facility staff as well as scientists to maintain equipment & assist with, installation of new equipment or lab modifications. Other responsibilities include safety, receiving and waste management. This role works closely with the property management and other tenants to coordinate building maintenance systems, equipment, security, etc.

• Develop and own a strategic facilities plan, proactively addressing space constraints and operational challenges.
• Take a proactive role in the design, installation, maintenance and operation of Facilities systems and procedures, including GLP and non-GLP utilities, waste systems, and HVAC
• Ensure that equipment and instruments are maintained and calibrated on time and to appropriate regulatory standards.
• Manage lab and building infrastructure functionality.

• Build and manage equipment maintenance, calibration, security access, and pest control programs.• Direct and manage contracted services as needed.• Support facility CAPEX and OPEX budgeting, and resource prioritization

• Participate in company risk management processes, develop, and implement business continuity planning for plant, laboratory, and office (including any evolution of COVID-19 plans in collaboration with the Leadership Team)
• Develop scope of projects, user requirements, specifications, create requests for proposals(RFP’s), evaluate statement of work and cost proposals, contracts, project management requirements.
• Coordinate the development, implementation, and preservation of key standard operating procedures and policies.

• Maintain local and state government documentation requirements relating to facilities and operations, ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety laws and regulations, Maintain all pertinent permitting.• Independently performs a range of maintenance, repair and renovation work.

• Analyzes and troubleshoots problems and performs necessary repairs.
• Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped. Posts weights and shipping charges and prepares goods for final shipment.
• Responsible for the physical and administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment.
• Unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of received goods and rejects unsatisfactory items as necessary.

• Provide on-call response to emergency facilities problems.• Perform furniture installations and office relocations.

• Assist Perform preventive maintenance on laboratory specific equipment to include NMR, incubators, ultralow freezers, refrigerators, vacuum pumps etc.
• Manage laboratory utilities such as gases (N2, Ar, CO2), dry ice, ice, common solvents.

The salary range for this position is $54.00/Hr. to $ $66.00/Hr. ; and the final salary offered to a successful candidate will depend on several factors that may include, but are not limited to, the type and length of experience within the industry, education, knowledge, skills, abilities and tenure for internal applicants.
