Overview
We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Worker of Larimer County Offices!
This position will perform upkeep tasks such as repairs and basic maintenance. You will be responsible for applying basic fixes to equipment and building systems and ensuring facilities are tidy and functional.

Responsibilities
Specifically, this position:
- Builds rough wooden structures such as barricades and fences and performs rough carpentry on park and other County buildings
- Repairs, installs, and constructs tables, shelves, cabinets, countertops, and other wood equipment and fixtures
- Prepares surfaces for painting, staining, or retexturing
- Applies paint to building interiors, fixtures, equipment, or exteriors; strips and paints or stains cabinets, doors, and woodwork
- Assists in a variety of carpentry and building tasks for County facilities
- Installs, maintains, and repairs plumbing systems and a variety of plumbing fixtures such as faucets, sinks, toilets, and water heaters
- Finishes cabinets and countertops as required
- Performs hand and bench work, operating planers, drill presses, power saws, and other woodworking machines
- Inspects and ensures that all lights, fixtures, ballasts and wiring, breaker boxes, and electrical switches and controls are in working order; make any necessary repairs
- Makes repairs on doors, windows, floors, lockers, gates, roofs, and ceilings
- Inspects heating and air conditioning systems and related equipment for proper functioning; performs related maintenance tasks as required
- Installs tile and carpet as necessary
- Performs semi-skilled and skilled work involving painting, plumbing, carpentry, mechanical, and electrical maintenance tasks

We are looking for a candidate that will:
- Have basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Have experience using hand and electrical tools
- Exhibits strong interpersonal skills
- Able to work with a team
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
- Able to read technical manuals and drawings
Qualifications
All candidates will be screened for the following required minimum qualifications. Any candidate who does not meet all of the qualifications listed as required will be eliminated from the process.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Possession of a valid Driver's License by date of hire required.
- Two (2) years of experience as a Building Maintenance Worker I, or in a directly related field or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities required.

Supplemental Information
The typical schedule for this position is 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Monday to Friday.
An offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check. As marijuana is an illegal substance under federal law, testing positive for marijuana (medical or otherwise) or any other substance for which the county tests, will result in the contingent offer of employment being revoked. Successful completion of the drug screen is defined as obtaining a negative result.
