How do you find the hidden, detect the soundless, and see the invisible? How would you like to be part of a team that develops and manufactures next-generation technologies and products that help find our nation’s stealthiest adversaries? At Ultra Maritime, Sonobuoy Systems, our core product line consists of underwater acoustic devices for use by the US military and our allies. We also design and manufacture mass notification devices which produce extremely loud, yet highly intelligible audio output for the commercial sector. We are looking for a thorough Maintenance Technician to undertake the responsibility to preserve the good condition and functionality of our operation. You will perform maintenance tasks of great variety such as repairing factory production equipment, electrical and plumbing work, and general building upkeep. The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously and responsibly by observing all health and safety guidelines.
Nationality Requirements
Candidates must be eligible to obtain the relevant security clearance required for the role, due to the nature of the programmes we deliver for our customers.
Perform a wide variety of general maintenance functions including facilities maintenance, machine troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance. Apply knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, and metal fabrication to complete assigned job tasks. Perform maintenance job tasks with a high degree of attention to safety and maintenance best practices.

  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintains inventories of equipment parts and supplies by checking stock and placing orders.
  • Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
  • Dismantles machinery and removes/replaces defective parts.
  • Trains production workers on routine preventive maintenance.
  • Determines changes in requirements of parts by inspecting and measuring various instruments.
  • Prepares maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
1st Shift – Full time position working four 10-hour shifts Monday - Thursday from 5:30 am to 4:00 pm
Required Skills:
  • 3+ years of experience in machine troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license with clean driving record for occasional driving of company vehicle
  • Associates Degree in Technology, Technical Certificate, or Maintenance/Technical Experience in Military with a minimum of 4 years of related practical experience OR minimum of 7+ years of related practical experience with no formal training or degree
  • Ability to obtain a US Government Security Clearance. Security Clearances are granted to US Citizens.
Desired Skills:
  • Experience with PLCs and robotics
  • Welding experience
  • Familiarity with NFPA 70: National Electrical Code & NFPA 70E: Electrical Safety in the Workplace
  • OSHA Training
  • Forklift and aerial lift experience
  • Electrical certification or Journeyman's Certificate
  • Familiarity with facilities maintenance
  • Strong problem solver
  • Basic plumbing and carpentry skills
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems ranging from 120V to 480V, including machine control circuitry
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks and adjust to changing priorities
  • History of making sound decisions and taking initiative
  • Experience with machine and hand tools common to the trade including but not limited to digital multimeter, pipe threader, table saw, and drill press
Physical Requirements:
  • Normal color vision and finger dexterity
  • Physically capable of performing all maintenance functions - includes ability to climb, to work beneath machines, and in close quarters
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
