About the Job

This opportunity is a full-time and benefits-eligible position.

Wednesday through Saturday 5pm – 5:30am.


As a Maintenance Tech II, you will be responsible for safely repairing and maintaining industrial machinery, equipment, and electrical devices for a 11-line food manufacturing facility that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The most qualified candidate will be responsible for keeping lines running, maintaining the equipment, and improving upon existing processes.


What Does It Take to be a Maintenance Tech II at Dawn Foods?

Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit for this job.

  • Able to, or capability of learning to, use shop tools and equipment such as lathe, drill press, cutting torch, welder (sanitary TIG a plus), hand drill, reciprocating saw, grinder, etc.
  • Experience troubleshooting, testing and repairing electronic devices used in low voltage, 3phase 208/230/480V, power distribution, control wiring, etc.
  • 3 years of maintenance experience, food manufacturing a plus or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Possess and utilizes personal tool set
  • Use electrical drawings and parts diagrams for troubleshooting purposes.

What you will do as a Maintenance Technician II

  • Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
  • Repairs forklifts as needed.
  • Assures that all repairs and preventative maintenance are done in compliance with GMP’s, IFS standards and SOP’s to ensure food safety.
  • Assists the Quality and Production teams in troubleshooting maintenance issues that may impact food safety or personnel safety.
  • Logging work hours in CMMS system
  • Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as wiring, electrical components.
  • Performs preventative maintenance, lubricates shafts, bearing, gears and other parts of machinery.
  • Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.
  • Operates cutting torch or welding equipment.
  • Fabricates and repairs new or used equipment or machines.
  • Installs and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. Repairs and replaces gauges, valves, and pressure regulators.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to grasp, move, or utilize objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to use sensory perception for quality measurement of products.
  • Physical duties involved in performing this position include but are not limited to lifting, pushing, pulling, walking, bending, standing, crouching, reaching overhead and climbing.
  • Working around heavy machinery – hearing protection required in production area
  • Team members must also be able to lift 50lbs. Position requires constant and continuous support of production and other departments.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus
  • Temperature fluctuates with the season – colder during the winter/warmer during the summer
