The supervisor position is responsible for directing the daily activities of Kiefel South Maintenance Team, setting priorities, assigning work, being a technical resource, personnel development, working with other departments to ensure manufacturing goals and project deadlines are met while maintaining compliance with current good manufacturing practices (GMPs), good documentation practices (GDPs) environmental health and safety (EHS) guidelines and any other regulations that apply. In addition, this role will target driving results for the entire department in PM compliance, completion of GMP/CWF work, be the Cell 2 Maintenance POC for Kiefel South.

What you'll be doing

  • Facilitate, verify, and even conduct appropriate training for employees in the area (including but not limited to GMP, troubleshooting, maintenance skills, and safety)
  • Provide a positive and equitable working environment emphasizing the Baxter Shared Values – Respect, Responsiveness and Results.
  • Provide direction of resources in the most efficient and productive manner possible.
  • Ensure compliance with all GMP rules, specifications, SOPs, and FDA requirements as required.
  • Oversee execution of assigned shutdown and other projects.
  • Support and Emphasize the Safety and Quality commitments of the department – make decisions concerning these commitments within the area.
  • Oversee and lead a maintenance team to support operations in an area.
  • Identify/prioritize/provide resources to assist the department to meet the annual operational plan and budgetary commitments,
  • Submit, maintain, and distribute reports related to attendance, labor, maintenance metrics, safety, and others as needed.
  • Ensure compliance as it relates to PMs, maintenance documentation, training, quality, 6s, safety.
  • Commit to employee feedback and developmental process – support Talent Management goals, conduct recognition and disciplinary action for employees, facilitate employee representation throughout the organization.

What you'll bring

  • AAS degree in a scientific or engineering discipline with a minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance experience or 5+ years' experience working in an industrial maintenance position.
  • Demonstrated communication, administrative, and strong technical leadership skills with ability to interface well with other departments to lead effectively and efficiently in a team environment. Solid professional writing skills.
  • Good computer skills to include Microsoft Office including Project.
  • Ability to understand regulatory and safety guidelines applicable to the medical / pharmaceutical industry and industry in general. Must have experience and knowledge with Lockout / Tagout and other Safety Programs.
  • Good assessment and troubleshooting skills (mechanical, electrical, and process) with demonstrated and proven experience and background.
  • Knowledge of WCM methods (Lean, Six Sigma, and QLP).
  • Have good project management skills and ability to organize many projects and priorities as required.
  • Interact with all levels of personnel to analyze and solve problems related to equipment but also with manufacturing, quality, engineering, and personnel issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a manufacturing plant setting.
  • Solid understanding of maintenance systems to include preventive maintenance and CMMS.
  • Ability to respond to detailed inquiries, and present information to groups and department management.

Preference:

The preferred candidate will have experience and demonstrated competence in Controls, AS-400, Crit. Sys., Fast Look, Change Control, QMIS, GMP, CWF, Maximo, One-point lessons, and knowledge of or experience with Kiefel RF and High-Speed Injection Sites.

At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a salary range of $72,000 to $108,000. The above range represents the expected salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
