Overview
Maintenance Mechanics perform maintenance work to support the plants and underground mine. The maintenance mechanics assess equipment failure, determine causes and make necessary repairs.
Responsibilities
Safely and efficiently perform preventative maintenance and equipment repairs, including mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, welding and other equipment.
Identify equipment operational problems and causes of breakdowns, and make repairs to same.
Perform and document workplace and mobile equipment inspections.
Train and utilize a computer and related software for creating work requests, entering time to work orders, looking up spare parts and inventory.
Work and coordinate with supervisors and other employees to strive for continuous improvement, safety and operational efficiency.
General knowledge and application of plant safety rules with emphasis on lockout procedures, risk awareness, moving conveyors, confined space procedures, and use of PPE.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Must successfully demonstrate written and practical skills as determined by written and hands-on testing.
Ability to independently solve problems and work with minimum supervision
