Job Description
Overview:
Under direction of Maintenance Supervisor, using standard processes and continuous improvements, the Maintenance Electrician is accountable for the upkeep and proper functionality for all electrical equipment and systems in a facility.
Responsibilities:
  • Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures, using test equipment, and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
  • Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.
  • May be designated: lead maintenance projects and perform basic housekeeping.
  • May diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment, following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipment: Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment, such as Punch Presses, Injection Machines, Hydraulic Presses, Eyelet Machine, following electrical code and blueprints, while following safety procedures such as lock-out tag-out etc.
  • Records keeping and follow-up of electrical repair, spare parts and general maintenance work at all times.
  • Tests malfunctioning machinery, using test equipment, and discusses malfunction with other maintenance or production workers, such as assembly department, clamping department, tool room department, press department, to diagnose malfunction.
  • Schedules, coordinates, directs and performs routine and comprehensive electrical maintenance projects.
  • Completing all tasks as assigned by the supervising manager.
  • Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment, following manuals, schematic diagrams, and blueprints, using hand tools and test equipment.
  • Maintaining records of all electrical inventories and placing orders for spare parts and equipment as needed.
  • May be designated to repair equipment such as Crane Maintenance, Punch Presses, Injection Molding Machines etc.
  • Replaces faulty electrical components of machine, such as relays, switches, motors, and position sensing devices.
Qualifications:
  • Must have an excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.
  • May be required to hold electrician's license or certificate.
  • Preferred technical education or equivalent 5 years of electrical manufacturing experience.
