The purpose of this position is to plan, organize, develop and assist the Maintenance supervisor with the overall operation of the Maintenance Department in accordance with the current local, state, and federal standards, guidelines and regulations, and as directed by the Administrator to assure that the facility is maintained in a safe and comfortable manor.
- Able to stoop, kneel, bend, climb depending on the job
- Moderate to heavy physical effort including lifting up to 100 pounds is required
- Able to work in awkward positions
- Frequent walking or standing required
- Able to see, hear and communicate adequately to complete job duties and responsibilities
- Regular inspection of property and equipment for compliance with safety regulations.
- Able to cooperate with other partners.
- Coordinate work with other departments so as not interrupt patient care or normal business functions.
- Perform or direct heavy custodial duties such as scrubbing and buffing, cleaning of storage, utility areas, washing walls, ceilings, outside windows, changing screens and storm windows, changing light bulbs in ceiling fixtures and cleaning duties in very high places, removing and disposing of garbage and trash.
- Perform or direct duties concerned with maintenance of grounds, parking lots, driveways, etc. May include gardening, landscaping, cleaning-up, snow removal, etc (except that performed under service contract).
- Heavy duty cleaning, grounds care, maintenance of institutional equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned from time to time.
- Able to be on call for emergencies.
- Responsible for the care and use of supplies and maintenance equipment used in performance of duties.
- Run errands, handles incoming and outgoing freight, lift and moves heavy furniture and equipment, and other miscellaneous duties as directed by supervisor or administrator.
- Keep records of work performed.
- Education--Must have High school or equivalent
- Must be able to deal tactfully & effectively with patients and visitors
- Must be willing to undergo a background check, in accordance with local law/regulations
