Roles and Responsibilities:
Role Summary:
- Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment
- Opens, produces, and repairs a variety of parts for Service Repair and production
- Performs required rework and production functions
- Sets up, operates lathes, drill presses, milling machines, grinders, and hand tools to fabricate parts (Ensure speeds, feeds and tooling are correct for the material being used)
- Replace worn parts and makes adjustments to ensure correct operation within tolerances
- Monitor and perform preventative maintenance on equipment such as checking operating fluid levels, grease and/or lubricate moving parts as required
- Ability to produce a variety of close tolerance parts from drawings or sketches
- Determine metal properties and proper material selections for assigned projects
Essential Responsibilities
In addition, you will:
- Ability to organize, plan and complete short-term projects
- Organize, plan, and execute repairs and/or produce equipment components and/or tooling
- Provides support to all departments on tooling related issues
- Work from specifications, drawings, process sheets and routers
Qualifications/Requirements
- Basic CNC operation programming knowledge
- Proficient written and verbal communications skills
- Actively participate in a teaming environment that uses lean and 5S practices to improve products and processes
- Proficient interpretation of blueprints, specifications, and drawings
Eligibility Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED
- Advanced training (Trade School)/certificate) or a minimum of 5 years applicable experience in Machine Shop/tooling
Desired Characteristics:
- Ability to produce error free products
- Strives to meet or exceed job requirements
- Experience with calibration guidelines and procedures
- Excellent attendance history
- Experience in pneumatics including operation and installation of valves and cylinders
This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
