Summary

The Lubrication/Vibration Technician works under the direction of a Sr. Reliability Specialist and is responsible for equipment/machinery lubrication, inspection, and proactive maintenance activities for all lubricated mechanical systems. Assigned lubrication and inspections are to be completed in an orderly and timely manner. Developing lubrication maps and centerline setting for lubrication of equipment. Training individuals on proper lubrication techniques and quantities of lubricants. With the aid of the Sr. Reliability Specialist this position will help develop and carry out a vibration analysis, ultra sonic inspection, infrared and other predictive maintenance technologies program (PdM).
This position will be required to work any shift and/or any day of the week in accordance with production schedules.
  • Performs minor repairs to equipment as directed. Minor repairs include but are not limited to replacing belts, fiber arms, sprockets, bearings, oil changes, etc.
  • Changes filters and breathers on reservoirs as needed.
  • Works with AMD to implement Operator training for pkg lubrication and Equipment Specific Lubrication maps.
  • Lubricates equipment at set frequency and volumes as outlined in lubrication PM.
  • Support Management and employees’ efforts to optimize manufacturing efficiencies and promote continuous improvement.
  • Fills drains and cleans lubrications reservoirs as needed.
  • Assists in program development of and performs ultrasonic, vibration, and or infrared testing to address equipment issues as required.
  • Understands and follows all plant Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Maintain a clean work area.
  • Maintain container labelling, cleanliness, and proper storage of lubricants in oil cabinets/shed. Follows Spill Control Plan in the event of any spills and/or leaking containers.
  • Always Maintains/Promotes safe work practices. Must have a complete knowledge and understanding of the plant safety rules including lockout-tag out procedure.
  • Work with supervisory staff and Safety Pillar team to develop and implement safety improvements.
  • Creates lubrication route maps, identifying fill locations and amount of lubricant.
  • Use tools and equipment for routine and non-routine lubrication functions.
  • Maintains and repairs all oil/grease dispensing equipment and automatic systems, including repair of damaged grease and oil fittings to ensure proper lubrication is occurring (grease lines, pneumatic oilers, and oil pots). Reports any deficiencies to appropriate Team Leader, whenever possible deficiencies should be reported in writing.
  • Assists in system development research, installation and monitoring of stationary vibration equipment as required.
  • Collaborates and works with AMD, CSD, PM, and other pillar teams to build training programs and train individuals and groups.
  • Understands, applies, and controls plant lubricants (food grade vs non-food grade) to be compliant with Plant food safety program.
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
  • Will be required to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • To work with loud noise, fumes, airborne particles, and in hot/humid or cold environments.
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to sit, and frequently required to stand and walk throughout the plant.
