GENERAL SUMMARY:

Provides professional nursing care to patients within assigned unit. Professional nursing practices, requiring specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills are performed in accordance with practice policy, procedure, and philosophy.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing is required
• All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities
• Perform follow-up calls to walk-in patients and document the encounter.
• Current licensure or eligibility from Delaware Board of Nursing or compact state as a GPN/LPN is required
• Performs all vital signs, diagnostic, evaluation, and technical procedures according to established policies and procedures.
• Follows through on all tests, procedures, or tasks left from the previous shift, and reports any incomplete assignments to assure continuity of procedures.
• Assure that all medical information and patient interaction are documented in the patient’s chart along with medications, allergies and medical history.
• Demonstrates effective communication skills and ability to educate patients regarding their plan of care.

• Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Replaces all supplies used during the shift.
• BLS Certification is required
• Once (1) or more years clinical experience in a physician’s practice or occupational health setting preferred
• Excel
• Performs nursing functions under the supervision of the charge nurse/clinical coordinator and providers.
• Ability to give injections and assist with minor medical/surgical procedures. In the practice setting.
