REPORTS TO: Director of Nursing
SALARY CLASSIFICATION: FULL TIME/PART TIME 3-11, EOWE

General Description:
Under the direction of RN, the LPN has thorough knowledge of principles, methods and techniques involved in performing general nursing duties. Ability to evaluate change in condition and respond to all emergency situations within the guidelines of good nursing practice.
Must be a Graduate of accredited School of Nursing Current Licensed Practical Nurse, LPN, license in the State of Connecticut
Essential Job Functions of Licensed Practical Nurse:

• Demonstrates the ability to evaluate people, situations, relationships.

• Demonstrates resourcefulness and ingenuity.

• Willingness to perform a variety of tasks which may not be conducive to strict nursing care.

• Demonstrates interest in continuing education, not necessarily formal classes.

• Perform any other duties or responsibilities that may become necessary or as directed by the supervisor.

• Thorough knowledge of infection control policies and procedures and universal practices.
• CPR and IV certified.

• Must be a team player with a positive attitude.

• Must have knowledge of geriatric nursing with the desire and compassion to practice safe and effective care.

• Must be willing to attend in-services and perform a variety of simple tasks, which may not be conducive to strict nursing care.

11.Perform any other duties or responsibilities that may become necessary or as directed by the DNS or supervisor.

Physical Requirements Of LPN:

• Good physical and mental health.

• Must be able to lift 50-75 lbs., bend, sit stand and walk intermittently throughout the shift.

• Must be able to read, write, and speak in English in a legible and understandable manner.

• Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.

Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before being considered for employment.
