The pay range listed above reflects the FULL pay range for this position. The expected ENTRY pay range is $19.00 - $24.88 per hour, based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. The position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.

About The Position


As a Logistics Support Specialist, you will help the Maricopa County Department of Public Health (MCDPH) develop and implement new logistics-based programs, procedures, and training to improve efficiency and resource accountability. You’ll be part of a team to work with department staff to integrate assets, supplies, and activities into new resource management systems and develop the infrastructure and training to support these improvements. We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized specialist who is excited about working with and encouraging others to adopt changes that will help the department serve the growing community.

We Require


  • A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
  • Three years responsible clerical and/or administrative experience
  • High school diploma or GED


We Also Value


  • Experience in writing operational procedures
  • Experience in implementing new programs, databases, and procedures that increase efficiency and accountability, reduces waste, and saves time, money, and resources
  • Experience in developing and/or delivering training in-person, online, and in a telework environment
  • Two years experience in inventory management, including capital assets, non-capital assets, and supplies


Job Contributions


  • Facilitate and conduct logistics project implementation meetings and presentations
  • Assist in resource planning upgrades and replacements based on expiration dates, lifecycles, capabilities, and compatibility with other systems and programs
  • Collect feedback from stakeholders and department staff to improve program processes and increase efficiency; identify and report lesson learned
  • Assist programs with asset identification and tagging
  • Research operational issues and provide recommendations to management
  • Provide specialized assistance with system operations and coordination of programs and administrative functions
  • Monitor and participate in budget planning and purchasing
  • Implement operational and auditing processes and procedures
  • Implement phase objectives and strategies under supervisory guidance
  • Create, prepare, update, and maintain complex spreadsheets, databases, and reports; compile and analyzes data for reports
  • Assist in developing and promoting change management awareness campaigns
  • Develop and implement asset and supply management training


Working Conditions


  • Within one month of hire, all employees are required to provide evidence of immunity or receive immunizations for vaccine-preventable illnesses for any position within the Maricopa County Department of Public Health; required immunizations include MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), Tdap (whooping cough and diphtheria), Varicella (chickenpox), and annual Influenza; some positions require a Hepatitis B vaccine and/or a Tuberculosis test
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire
  • Work primarily occurs in an office setting, with the possibility to travel to other department facilities in the county. Opportunities to telework part-time are task dependent
  • Must be able to participate in emergency response training as scheduled and be available to respond as directed in the event of a public health emergency
