Job Description
The Lacassine Logistics Supervisor is responsible for a broad range of duties focused on ensuring all aspects of distribution operational discipline are in place and functioning properly for the facility.
The Logistics Coordinator/Supervisor has direct responsibility for the performance of distribution employees, documentation management, export compliance, business systems, shipping, and receiving operations. The will also manage the development, training, implementation, and audit of material handling, warehousing, and inventory control procedures for warehouse. Inspects the warehousing, receiving and shipping of all products, maintains inventory accounting, and provides logistical support for operations daily production. Responsibilities also includes managing the facility’s cycle counts and physical inventory counts of the raw materials, intermediate materials and final products.
The role requires daily management of performance gaps and prioritization of distribution activities. Ensures that all warehouse activities are conducted in accordance with regulations and the environmental, health and safety policy. Active role in the development and maintenance of Logistics procedures with the assistance of Logistics Supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Warehouse Management: Supervises all warehouse activities (inbound and outbound Select, direct, and train departmental personnel. Manage all personnel files and records (training, time, safety, etc.) for all audits. Meet departmental goals consistent with business objectives (safety, environmental, quality, and production). Maintain a very safe environment for employees, being a safety leader- "setting the bar" in this dangerous areas of operation. Maintain truck unloading equipment. Coordinate with Maintenance Dept. when necessary.
Inventory Control Management: Responsible for the accuracy of the physical warehouse inventories. Oversees shipping and receiving processes for raw material, finished goods, and supplies in all types of containers. Has direct responsibility for the site’s inventory management of raw materials and finished goods through cycle counting and physical inventory processes. Ensure that all inventory and operating hardware and software is fully operational.
Training and Safety Management:
Accountable for performance of the Logistics Department regarding health, safety, environmental, quality and cost. Responsible for Logistics Department training plans and elements to ensure flexibility and competency.
Labor and Productivity Planning:
Responsible for succession planning and staffing levels within Logistics Department within budget constraints agreed to by the Site Management Team. Responsible for target-setting and Cost Center/Budget management within the Logistics Department. Responsible for performance management of direct reports. Provides coaching and feedback to assist in the development of direct reports. Champions change initiatives to improve current processes, procedures, and tools to drive Department goals and KPI’s. Check scanned entries for completeness and accuracy. Plan daily transfer shuttle to the plant. Schedule and manage daily inbound and outbound freight carries. Communicate with supply chain and customer service as it relates to shipments.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Prior experience with integrated ERP solutions a significant plus
  • Bachelors plus a minimum of two years work experiences in logistics or transportation operations OR (in lieu of degree) at least 7 years professional experiences in direct management experiences logistics or transportation operations with demonstrated expertise in carrier operations, transport optimization, warehouse operations, material handling, and transportation regulations
  • Proficiency in use or Microsoft Office products and supplier web tools/services required
