Position Overview:

Siemens Large Drives LLC is looking for a Logistics Manager to join our new motors and large drives company Innomotics, at the New Kensington, PA location. The Logistics Manager is responsible for Warehousing, including shipping and receiving, Inventory Control and Inbound and Outbound Transportation. The Logistics Manager will deploy continuous improvement methodologies in all areas of responsibility as proven by improvements in Quality, Cost and Delivery for both internal and external customers. This position will build the efficient organizational structure and focus on the training and development of the associates within the organization. The position requires collaboration with local and global Procurement, Manufacturing, Product Management, Customer Service, R&D, Product Engineering, and other key stakeholders. The role will report directly to the New Kensington Head of Operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Drives the development of digital solutions related to materials to continuously improve process effectiveness and efficiency along the value chain.
  • Supports the agile/lean transition of the whole organization and coaches team members and managers with respect to agile/lean thinking.
  • Structures organization to optimize performance of processes within the logistics environment.
  • Measures effectiveness of the logistics organization by identifying, implementing, and improving relevant critical metrics for the organization.
  • Develops and implements staffing plan to drive performance and cost efficiency within the logistics environment.
  • Plans and proposes logistics budget, and decides allocation of related financial and personnel resources, within given limits.
  • Drives quality of outcomes of materials processes including elite inventory accuracy.
  • Develops associates at all levels of the organization to allow for continuous improvement of the outcomes of the organization.
  • Continuously improves material handling process across the entire material value chain.
  • Ensures all associates are trained successfully by identifying training needs, planning required training, and performing to that plan.
  • Initiates data driven improvement projects using agile and lean methods.
  • Supports manufacturing on time delivery and cash flow initiatives.
  • Implements logistics strategies / improvements within the function.
  • Leads the team responsible for logistics including inbound and outbound materials processes, warehousing, and inventory control.
  • Ensures safety of all associates in the organization.
  • Collaborates with peer leaders within the manufacturing environment to drive quality, customer satisfaction and cost optimization.

Requirements:

  • Professional experience (7+ years) in a lean manufacturing environment
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite and Enterprise Software (SAP experience a plus)
  • Demonstrated skills for developing associates in a manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a business or technical field of study
  • Direct Leadership experience in warehousing, inventory control or transportation
  • Direct Leadership experience (5+ years) in a lean manufacturing environment

The pay range for this position is $ $104,400 - $179,000, with a 10% Incentive. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
