Summary
The Manager - Logistics (Regional) is responsible for controlling costs and supporting continuous
improvements to productivity and systems within the warehouse. The Regional Logistics Manager is
expected to set and achieve targets and cost positions while ensuring on time service to the store network.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain results, analyze and assess performance and implement improvements
- Reduce costs and provide high level of service
- Support to all functions within the department
- Manage, coach, and train members of the workforce
- Oversee warehouse management system to ensure on time delivery
- Provide all training materials and ensure that all team members fully comply with relevant training
- Supervise, manage, and direct a team of one or more employees
- Minimize costs and increase efficiencies where possible
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Approve all Standard Operating Procedures for assigned area of responsibility
- Ensure all health & safety standards are adhered to and positively followed
- Direct oversight and control of department
- Ensure accurate receiving, picking, and shipping of stock
What You’ll Need
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
- Ability to manage and control multiple projects and tasks with tight time deadlines
- Overall process of receiving selecting and shipping goods via a road transport network
- In lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience in related field will meet the educations and related experience requirements
- Knowledge of business practices
- 3 - 5 years of experience
- Knowledge of warehousing and warehousing systems, logistics, and supply chain
- Bachelor’s degree
- Excellent oral and written communication and people management skills
Experience with business practices, supply chain, and logistics
- Ability to work in a fast-paced working environment, including the store(s), distribution center(s), warehouse(s), and/or corporate office(s) with the capability to switch job functions/roles quickly
- Ability to work in various conditions in temperatures around or below freezing, such as outdoor weather conditions or freezers
- Ability to work in situations that involve prolonged sitting, standing, walking, squatting and/or bending and twisting more than half the time
- Ability to operate heavy machinery and/or equipment that requires the constant use of
- Ability to work a variety of shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Ability to maneuver cases of product (lift, move, carry, slide, etc.) in excess of 50 lbs. and reach above head to heights greater than 10 inches frequently in accordance with safety regulations
- Must be able to handle all Lidl products, to include but not limited to, meat, poultry, alcohol products, and food products with known allergens, such as nuts
- Ability to handle any hazardous materials in an appropriate manner
- Ability to identify and distinguish between colors more than half the time
- Ability to spend more than half the time viewing computer monitors
