Job Description
Summary About the Position: You will serve as a Logistics Management Specialist and technical advisor who plans, coordinates, and executes a variety of logistics management actions located at the Yakima Training Center in Yakima, WA. Responsibilities Gather and analyze relevant data, formulating recommendations on logistics matters. Conduct staff studies and special projects to identify and resolve problems concerning logistics operations to include: readiness, training, supply, maintenance, and transportation activities. Coordinate with higher headquarters to ensure logistics operations are in compliance with established policy. Review and analyze logistics portions of plans, operations orders, and directives. Recommend appropriate course of action to ensure readiness. Develop specific plans, establishes milestones, coordinates actions, and adjusts plans and schedules based on changes. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing administrative duties gathering and reviewing a variety of narrative and/or statistical data to prepare reports for a logistical program; Formulate and recommends solutions to problems and areas that have impact on logistic plans,This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business, Logistics Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Adaptability Administration and Management Planning and Evaluating Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
