Job Scope


The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and tracking logistics processes such as container management and damaged freight claims. He/she will communicate with Production Control staff any issues that occur with these processes and support process efficiency.


Job Functions


  • Arrange repairs for trailers and containers
  • Track logistic costs and analyze trends for accurate reporting
  • Administrator of Yard Management System to track assets and asset movement
  • Coordinate and track inbound and outbound domestic freight, ocean freight and air freight, to insure timely delivery of production parts
  • Oversee CMS (Content Management System) to insure all users have access to incoming/outgoing ocean freight information
  • Oversee the filing and resolution of damaged freight claims
  • Provide back up support for other logistics team members
  • Audit all freight invoices for accuracy before submitting to finance
  • Escalate and communicate issues to upper management
  • Other related duties as required


Job Duties


  • Ensure accuracy of yard management system and that all users are familiar with use. Regularly communicate asset data with team members and provide user training as needed.
  • Communicate freight delays with parts planning team, packaging and logistics team and support freight recovery activities such as port diversion or expedites
  • Track costs associated with logistics for weekly, monthly and annual reporting to identify industry trends and areas for improvement within current processes
  • Oversee damaged freight process by filing cargo claims with both freight carriers and insurance companies to recoup the financial loss associated with freight mishandling,
  • Maintain positive relationships with Production Control staff and vendors


Basic Qualifications
  • Ability and history of driving change with a self-starter mentality
  • Intermediate analytical and critical thinking abilities
  • Good relationship building skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management or Supply Chain or related discipline (or) Equivalent experience
  • Computer skills; Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a role relating to Logistics, Customer Service, Supply Chain, or in a related role


Preferred


  • Knowledge of Siemens, Allen Bradley, and Mitsubishi products
  • A technical diploma in Electrical Industrial Maintenance or related field
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a production maintenance environment, preferably in the automotive industry
  • Have knowledge and experience with electrical equipment: 480/230v 3ph, 110&24 vdc controls, prints and schematics
  • Have the ability to read and interrupt blue prints, schematic, and ladder logic

  • Possess an understanding of electrical matters in a manufacturing setting
  • Should have some level of experience in the electrical/automation technician field
