Loan Officer, Retail Center, Purchase

The Purchase Loan Officer will be responsible for selling mortgages and adhering to company guidelines Responsible for advising customers regarding their options for obtaining a new mortgage, with a focus on purchase lending. Perform all duties in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, all US state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the company operates. The target pay range for this position is $11.54 per hour + Monthly Incentive Plan.

• Explain various loan products to customers.
• Maintain in depth knowledge of FHA, FNMA, FHMC, VA, and USDA products in order to provide the highest levels of service for our clients and the consistent communication needed to educate and inform borrowers throughout the process.
• Provide a high level of customer service to customer and agent during the loan process.
• Partner with operations staff to ensure expedient process of file flow.
• May be required to join professional associations such as banker associations, the rotary club, or similar groups.
• Adhere to all phone disclosure requirements when speaking to customers.
• Ensure loans are in compliance with Carrington guidelines, applicable state and federal regulations, and investor requirements.
• May do occasional refinance loans, generally with previous clients.
• Establish and maintain relations with Vylla agents, Concierge and Title.
• Discuss mortgage options for purchase loans with prospective and current customers.
• Follow up with prospective clients regarding documents that were submitted for review, analyze credit reports, income documents and further research as required.
• Manage the loan process according to current legal and company guidelines and applicable federal, state and local regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What you’ll need:

• Knowledge of Carrington policies, procedures, guidelines and organization structure
• Knowledge of Carrington’s loan origination system
• Knowledge of purchase transactions
• Knowledge of Carrington’s underwriting guidelines and investor requirements
• Knowledge of FHA, FNMA, FHLMC, VA, and USDA products
• Industry specific software knowledge preferred, i.e. Lead management systems (Leads 360), DU, LP, Appraisal Management Software
