Summary:


PayPal’s Legal Team is looking for a dynamic paralegal to join its Litigation group. In this role, you will work closely with the Litigation team attorneys and fellow paralegals managing PayPal’s active litigation. This position reports to the Consumer Litigation Legal Counsel and will be located in Los Angeles, California or Scottsdale, Arizona.

Responsibilities


  • Maintain and manage information relating to litigation and other matters handled by PayPal’s Litigation team and use that information to drive better processes and efficiencies.
  • Assist with the management of litigation including preparing hold notices, researching and analyzing claims, gathering documents and reviewing pleadings and discovery responses.
  • Review and analyze complaints and arbitration demands.
  • Work on complex assignments requiring advance problem-solving skills.
  • Draft and fulfill settlement agreements, when appropriate.
  • Review and handle small claims hearings in California and other jurisdictions as needed and represent PayPal and its subsidiaries.
  • Prepare metrics, reports, and presentations for internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with all aspects of litigation, including responding to discovery, trial preparation, and settlements.


Required Skills


  • Prior experience in the financial services industry is a plus.
  • Requires up to 40% of domestic travel.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Capable of managing numerous projects and cases simultaneously under tight deadlines while maintaining a good sense of humor and positive attitude.
  • Paralegal Certificate from an ABA accredited school preferred.
  • Experience preparing concise and succinct presentations, graphs and reports.
  • A successful candidate will collaborate with PayPal legal colleagues across our global organization.
  • This is a junior paralegal role requiring a demonstrated proficiency and some experience in all aspects of litigation management and, ideally, experience with arbitration.
  • Creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Must have three or more years of litigation experience.
  • Must be excellent at organizing and tracking case information and docketing.
  • Highly proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Sharepoint, iManage, ONIT, Tableau, Relativity, and iPro.
  • Must be a skilled oral and written communicator.
  • Familiarity with, and strong interest in, PayPal, ecommerce payments, emerging payment technology and the payments industry.
  • The ideal candidate should have knowledge of PayPal’s products and services.

The U.S. national hourly pay range for this role is $16 to $55
