Job Description
Responsibilities:
This LIS/Billing Coordinator opportunity is full time at 40 hours per week, offers full benefits and a convenient day shift schedule.

Northern Nevada Health System is a regional multi-facility system that has excelled at offering quality care to residents of the greater Truckee Meadows. We have many locations across the region and in our rural communities. Northern Nevada Medical Center, a 124-bed acute care hospital in Sparks, is our flagship provider. A second hospital, Sierra Medical Center, is currently under construction and is scheduled to open in 2022. Sierra Medical Center will be the first full-service hospital built in the region in over a century.
We also provide primary care services and a wide range of specialty care through Northern Nevada Medical Group. Our providers have locations throughout Reno, Sparks, Fallon and Bishop to serve the community.

Responsible for operation of the LIS and coordination of its operation with Corporate UHS Information service team and local information system team. This includes training and supporting laboratory and clinical staff on processes related to the LIS and communicating with various department leaders, physicians and administration of the hospital regarding any changes or updates that can affect processes and operations. Also, responsible for tasks related to billing and coordinating with Corporate UHS billing and IS team regarding any updates on CPTs or CDMs related to laboratory tests. The LIS coordinator will also work closely with corporate team, vendors and techs during implementation of new facilities or new instrumentations or new testes. Administrative tasks related to LIS and billing may be assigned.

Qualifications:
  • 3 years supervisory experience preferred
  • State Supervisor License in Medical Technology
  • Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology, Chemistry, Biology or equivalent
