The Legal Associate Supervisor serves as a subject matter expert for the Plaintiff Fact Sheet (PFS) team, supporting the goals and objectives of the programs as directed by the Operations Manager. This includes execution of each project in accordance with the documented process and procedures. The Legal Associate Supervisor is also responsible for the oversight of day-to-day team operations including production, SME training, and escalations. This resource must possess strong leadership skills and knowledge of the team’s purpose and goals to help drive the work and meet performance standards. The supervisor serves as a liaison between the team and the Manager to assist with reporting performance metrics and communicating their needs. An excellent grasp of the work the team performs is essential, as well as an understanding of the tasks and activities of a manager to serve as an intermediary between the two. The supervisor will ensure timely completion of the team’s assigned work with equal emphasis on quality to ensure each claimant's case accurately reflects the data that will yield optimal results for their settlement.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Proactively identifies operational issues/risks and provides solutions
  • Oversee team’s work assignments and ensure production is in accordance with each project’s goals, deadlines, SLAs and quality standards
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the team with management of direct reports. Conduct bi-weekly one-on-one meetings to assist with growth and development of team members along with annual Performance Reviews.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and point of escalations for internal and external clients
  • Assist with interview/onboarding/offboarding of team members and management of outside vendors
  • Assists with research and development of SME training materials for new projects and ongoing training
Qualifications:
  • Able to adapt to constantly changing environment
  • Education
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Paralegal Studies or equivalent years of experience
    • Juris Doctorate Preferred
  • Juris Doctorate Preferred
  • Direct/Indirect People Leadership
  • Confident, mature listener with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Work Experience
    • 3-6 years’ experience with review of medical records and/or completing legal documentation
    • 2-5 years supervisor or team leadership experience
    • Experience with mass tort, personal injury, disability, and worker’s compensation reviews is plus
    • Experience in project management is a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Paralegal Studies or equivalent years of experience
  • Licenses and Certifications
    • Paralegal licensure or higher
  • Strong internal and external client service skills
  • Experience in project management is a plus

  • Ability to advocate for and effectively understand clients’ needs and develop reasonable solutions
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong Problem solving and analytical ability

  • Comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment

  • Anticipates or identifies problems and develops effective solutions without frequent supervision
  • Must be proficient in MS Office applications, especially operating systems experience with MS Access, SharePoint and Excel

Candidates based in California, Colorado, New York or Washington:
The Compensation range for this role is 28.21 - 56.42 USD per hour and may be eligible for an annual bonus. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual's location, skills, experience and qualifications.
