Job Description

Michael McCrum is an experienced solo practitioner whose office is in north San Antonio. The primary area of his law practice is in the defense of persons accused or being investigated, with an emphasis in complex federal and state criminal investigations and prosecutions. To the extent possible, his office operates on a paperless basis, so extensive computer skills is required. Mr. McCrum is seeking an experienced legal assistant/secretary with a minimum of 3 years who is able to execute a variety of administrative and legal duties. The candidate will have to have effective time management and organizational skills coupled with the ability to be detail oriented.


Responsibilities

  • Communication and coordination with court personnel, law enforcement representatives, clients and their family members, and others.
  • Participate in client and witness interviews.
  • Court e-filings.
  • Administrative functions such as managing logistics and office administrative requirements.
  • Point of contact for potential and existing clients.
  • Document management and preparation, to include initial drafting, proofreading, and electronic organization.


Qualifications

  • Strong work ethic and initiative with a positive attitude.
  • Strong technical proficiency, experience with Microsoft 365 (One-Drive, Word, Excel, Notes, etc), Adobe Acrobat, and other software applications.
  • Proficient with Mac computers
  • E-filing knowledge
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • College education and litigation experience.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred, but not necessary.
