The Leasing Manager coordinates between internal clients, Roush facilities, existing property owners, and various other external resources to manage the existing property portfolio, identify new locations for relocation and expansion, and ensure timely negotiation and execution of real property contracts and compliance to same. This position is located in Livonia, MI.

As a Leasing Manager, you will:

  • Assist with vehicle and fleet management contracts and audits
  • Assist with Annual building insurance review and reporting
  • Manage real estate legal documents from identification of new properties to the end of tenancy. This includes managing external relationships with property owners and managers, negotiating contract terms with property owners, coordinating with internal Roush Legal Department for agreement on terms, ensuring compliance to contracts, finding, vetting, acquisition of property, and coordination of building utility services at the beginning and end of lease tenancy.
  • Coordinate, support, and work with Roush Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) and Legal teams to support environmental, safety and health investigation, remediation, and compliance efforts, including communications with outside consultants, landlords and neighboring property owners
  • Work with Roush Projects, EHS and Maintenance teams to support ongoing facility operations and participate in building reviews for safety and recommend needed improvements
  • Assist with other Facilities responsibilities as needed – annual budgeting, capital improvements, corporate quarterly / ISO Department policies and compliance, and department coordination
  • Maintain Access database tracking all lease documents, real property obligations, and related contracts and associated data, including monthly coordination of all leasing invoices including year-end Common Area Maintenance audits
  • Manage relationships with internal tenants and external subtenants to ensure property requirements are met and responsibility for various matters are distributed throughout the Roush Facilities team

To be considered a Leasing Manager, you will need:

  • Able to read and interpret construction documents, lease contract, schedules, and building and EHS codes
  • Strong skills managing multiple tasks, customers, and problem-solving
  • Strong understanding of construction terms, scheduling, and planning methods and good understanding of building operations, cost, and budgeting
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in commercial property management, customer relations and leasing
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Real-estate, Accounting, Finance or related.
  • Strong understanding of legal documents, leases, and leasing process
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including negotiation skills

A successful candidate may also have:

  • Experience with Peoplesoft, databases, and MS Project
  • Ability to read and understand building drawings and read AutoCAD (Computer-Aided Design) drawings electronically or printed
  • Knowledge of building operations
  • Knowledge of Lease and sublease terms and language
  • Good customer interaction skills
  • Legal experience
  • Juris Doctor (J.D) degree
