Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for a Lean Practitioner Senior Manager (Level L) to join the Lean Manufacturing Office leadership team in Everett, Washington.


We are looking for a people-centric, inspiring leader with an affinity for engaging others in continuous improvement to perform the following responsibilities.


Position Responsibilities:


  • Builds organizational culture that values open and honest communication.
  • Leads first-level managers and employees performing Lean improvement strategies for the production system.
  • Contributes to departmental business and technical strategies, goals, and objectives.
  • Leads, develops, and inspires employees and first-level managers to exceed organizational and customer objectives through advancement of technical and leadership skills.
  • Develops and deepens relationships and partnerships with internal customers, peers, functional partners, and direct reports in alignment to enterprise, BCA, organizational, and customer goals.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors integrated departmental plans, budgets, policies, and procedures.
  • Acquires resources for department activities and leads process improvements.
  • Applies and deploys daily management and continuous improvement practices to strengthen internal capabilities.


This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Everett, Washington.


The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R.
  • 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • 5+ years of experience working with cross functional teams
  • 5+ years of project or program management experience.
  • 5+ years of experience do you have mentoring, coaching, guiding, and leading teams
  • 3+ years of management experience
  • 5+ years of experience implementing lean manufacturing principles in a production system
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 3+ years in design/build prototype, Lean knowledge, process management skills and project leadership.
  • 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 3+ years of experience coaching team members and leaders in an operations environment influencing others.
  • 3+ years of experience in a role where results are achieved through other managers
  • Ability to occasionally work varied shifts and at other locations in Puget Sound
  • 3+ years of experience developing and deploying departmental or organizational strategies.
  • 3+ years of experience in Lean Workshop leadership, Accelerated Improvement Workshop, Value Stream Mapping, 3P (Production Preparation Process), Distribution Kaizen, Autonomous Maintenance Workshop.

Summary pay range: $141,000-$190,000
