Lead, Slicer/Packaging Operator

Delicatessen Services Co., LLC The Lead, Slicer/Packaging Operator in the Ocado Shed is responsible for slicing and packaging deli orders, maintaining proper inventory levels, ensuring that we maintain a food safe and clean work environment while fulfilling the need of our customer. The lead will focus on protecting and promoting the Boar’s Head Brand while working closely with our retail partners. The lead will be responsible for working with their manager to properly schedule all needed support staff.

• Picking food products and packing in boats, totes and boxes
• Processing (Slicing packing + labeling)
• Spotting check packages emerging from machinery for correct labeling
• Understanding the PO and ordering process
• Navigating the technology needs through the Xtreme System
• Assisting in shut down procedures
• QA finished materials
• Scanning labels on packages, loading packaging machines with boats, and labeling packages with printed labels
• Assist in cleaning procedures
• Working with our retail partner to ensure the highest quality customer service
• Safe Food Practices specific to department

• Must be able to read and understand production requirements
• Ability to apply knowledge of processes involved, production methods, and products to the nuances of everyday operation
• Ability to perform twisting, turning and bending
• Must be able to start overnight or early morning hours
• Ability to work in climate of 32-38 degrees
• Able to stand for long period of times
• Must be required to lift a minimum of 50lbs
• Experience in a related field is a plus
• Must be able to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday)
• Must embody and demonstrate company values and culture
• Ability to clearly communicate in English. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
• Comfortable and able to work an 8-12-hour shift (hours per day are based on business need)
