Job Responsibilities

Plan, organize, conduct, and record training in accordance with South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy (SCCJA) rules and regulations. Implement SCCJA compliant lesson plans to ensure officers receive the required SCCJA Continuing Law Enforcement Education Credit. Prepare, maintain and submit necessary SCCJA Mandatory Retraining Notifications for MTCPD personnel. Coordinate with SCCJA and other law enforcement agency required basic, compulsory in-service recertification, and advanced training. Mentor, guide, and support subordinate law enforcement instructors. Direct development of SCCJA compliant lesson plans (LP). Review training documents to include LP, PowerPoints, practical exercises and testing materials. Evaluate subordinate instructor performance to improve training material delivery. Other duties as assigned.

This position is located on the Airport Campus in the Campus Police department.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

A high school diploma and experience performing patrol or investigative duties with a public law enforcement agency. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required law enforcement experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities to perform general law enforcement duties and supervises subordinate Officers. Certification by the Law Enforcement Training Council in accordance with 23-23-40 of the Code of Laws of South Carolina 1976 is preferred.
