Laundry Aide

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for cleaning resident’s personal clothing and laundering of all personal bed linens (blankets, etc.). Also responsible for cleaning of some nursing home linen supplies.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School graduate or GED preferred.

Experience: One year of laundry experience preferred.

Job Knowledge: Ability to read, write and follow instructions; knowledge and ability to use household and industrial washers and dryers. Knowledge of commercial laundry processes, equipment and procedures for both washing and ironing some materials.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Keep work area clean and as lint free as possible.
• Launders all clothing and return to residents.
• Does monthly inventory of supplies.
• Returns all laundered items to their proper place.
• Performs other duties as directed as required.
• Does periodic inspection of resident’s closets and drawers to organize clothes and removal of soiled times from room to control odor problems.
• Collect all soiled clothing from each floor 3 times a day.
• Reports daily to supervisor to discuss any laundry problems.
• Duties as requested by supervisor.
• Does project work assign by supervisor?
