Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Laboratory Technician for Medical Immunology – Payne Lab within Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Laboratory Technician assists with technical laboratory procedures and analyses in support of specialized research activities of the laboratory. Assists in the set-up, and conducting of experiments as required. Performs other related laboratory duties as required.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Performs standard laboratory procedures involved in making required tests and analyses.
  • Assists in packing, unpacking, storing and classification of lab supplies and specimens.
  • Assists in preparing culture media, reagents, stains, and stock solutions.
  • Maintains accurate records of experimentation and research.
  • Prepares reports, documents and databases.
  • Assists with the maintenance of the laboratory facilities, equipment, and instruments.
  • Assists with experimentation and research activities.
  • Reviews selected literature relevant to research activities.
  • Helps maintain records, files, and databases.

Immunization Requirements

Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees, Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
