Job Description

Position Responsibilities:

Two technician positions for engineering-related work are currently available in Dr. Xuewei Wang’s lab within the Department of Chemistry at Virginia Commonwealth University. For these positions, education or expertise in at least one of the following areas is required: electronic engineering, optical engineering, and microfabrication. The successful candidates will be responsible for assisting the PI in fabricating biomedical devices, specifically sensors, microfluidic chips, and detectors. Characterization and evaluation of devices may also be involved. Depending on the level of contribution, the technicians will have the opportunity to be included as authors in related publications.

Required Qualifications:

Engineering-related BS or MS degree. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in one or more of the following directions: optical fibers, electric circuits, clean room fabrication, and 3D printing.
